Weather may play havoc with HS football schedule

Week 8 of the high school football season will be interrupted in parts of Georgia by Hurricane Matthew as it sweeps its way up the southeastern coast of the United States. SCCPSS schools in Savannah were are cancelled Wednesday-Friday, so all public school athletic events have also been cancelled. Some games have been moved up to Thursday and others will be pushed back to Monday, and possibly later. We will continue to update the schedule changes, but here’s what we do know:

Brunswick at Bradwell Intsitute (Thursday)

Effingham County at Glynn Academy (Thursday)

Liberty County at Tattnall County (Thursday)

South Effingham at Wayne County (Thursday)

Windsor Forest at Savannah (Thursday)

Johnson County at Jenkins County (Thursday)

Claxton at Savannah Christian (Monday 6 p.m.)

Statesboro at New Hampstead (Monday 6 p.m.)

Cancelled games: TBD

Calvary Day at Savannah Country Day
