Defending state champion and No. 3-ranked Southwest DeKalb advanced to the Final Four for the eighth time in 10 years with a 71-56 win over No. 9 Eagle’s Landing.

The Panthers (26-4) were led by Jada Walton, a Texas A&M signee, with 27 points, even though she missed much of the fourth quarter with a lower leg problem. Lanee Edwards scored 16 and Ruona Uwaisaba had 12 rebounds.

Eagle’s Landing (26-4) got 21 points from Ashley Foster, 15 of them in the second half, and Kiela Howard scored 16.

Buford 77, Warner Robins 56: The No. 2-ranked Wolves overcame a slow start and used a couple of seven-point runs before halftime to take control of the game. Buford coach Gene Durden said his girls were “overhyped” to begin the game, but quickly settled down and began to execute.

Buford (27-2) was led by 22 points from Tory Ozment. The Wolves made 10 3-point baskets.

No. 4-ranked Warner Robins (27-2) was led by Le’Terria Mathis with 18 points, with Kezia Holmes and Shynia Jackson each scoring 12.

Flowery Branch 61, Carrollton 46: No. 6-ranked Falcons went on the road to hand No. 5 Carrollton its second loss of the season. Flowery Branch finished the first half with a 9-3 run that gave it a 31-23 lead and stretched the advantage to 189 points a third quarters.

Flowery Branch (24-6) got 19 points and 13 rebounds Taniyah Worth, 11 points from Caroline Wysocki and 10 from Janoah Williams.

Carrollton (29-2) was led by Taylor Brown with 17 points and Elexus Bell with 11.

Griffin 66, Maynard Jackson 47: The No. 1-ranked Bears (28-1) used a pair of huge quarters to advance to the Final Four. Griffin won the first quarter 15-5 and put it away with a 22-4 advantage I n the third quarter. Daisya Reid scored 20 points and Andeija Puckett scored 18 for the Bears, who are in the semifinals for the first time since 1998.

No. 7 Jackson (24-3) fell short of its goal to reach the state title game for the second straight year.
