Roswell at Westlake

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Westlake Stadium, College Park

Records, rankings: Roswell is 13-0, the No. 1 seed from Region 4-AAAAAAA and No. 2; Westlake is 10-3, the No. 1 seed from 2-AAAAAAA and unranked.

Last meeting: This is the teams’ first meeting.

Things to know: Roswell QB Malik Willis transferred from Westlake during the 2015-16 academic year and before Kareem Reid was hired to replace Bryan Love as head coach. Willis, who has committed to Virginia Tech, has had a breakout season. He’s 170-of-280 passing for 2,337 yards and has rushed for 980 yards. Roswell’s offensive weapons extend much further, however, as WR Jayden Comma (41-700-9 receiving) and RB Sheldon Evans (231-1,483-14 rushing) are all-state candidates. Roswell has 10 of the top 250 senior prospects in the state, according the 247Sports’ composite rankings. Westlake has four of its own, most notably LB Jaden Hunter (committed to Georgia) and CB A.J. Terrell (Clemson). Westlake shut down the classification’s highest-scoring offense in a 24-21 victory over Lowndes last week. QB Ravaughn Burch was only 6-of-16 passing but rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns. This will be Westlake’s first semifinal. Roswell was the state runner-up to Colquitt County last season.
