Tennis: Lambert boys and girls advance in state playoffs

Lambert 3, Lakeside-DeKalb 0

The Longhorns cruised to a win against Lakeside-DeKalb in the first round of the Class 7A state tournament Wednesday at home.

The Longhorns advance to play Kennesaw Mountain.

Lambert got wins at No. 1 singles by Will Harper (6-3, 6-2), No. 2 singles by Jack Metzger (6-0, 6-0), No. 2 doubles by Anu Bandi and Simon Dubin (6-2, 6-2) and No. 1 doubles by An Lenka and Kevin Tao (6-2, 6-2). Garrett McVay led 6-0 at No. 3 singles when the match ended.

GIRLS TENNIS

Lambert 3, Norcross 0

The Longhorns cruised to a win at Norcross in the first round of the Class 7A state tournament Wednesday.

The Longhorns advanced to play Camden County today at 1 p.m.

Lambert got wins at No. 2 singles from Taylor Despriet (6-0, 6-1), No. 1 doubles from Haley Oleson and Kate Winters (6-1, 6-2) and No. 2 doubles from Kate Dufresne and Jenna Eskew (6-1, 6-2).
