The Spring Hill Elementary Sun Run, billed as “the toughest 5K in Fayette County” and organized in memoriam of John Munford and Bridget Lambert, is scheduled for Friday, April 27, with a kids’ fun run at 6:30 p.m. and the 5K race at 7 p.m.

Registration for the 5K is $20 and will close 30 minutes prior to the race. There will be a “no tee” race which is $15. Anyone who wishes to support the school and receive a T-shirt can enter as a “phantom runner” for $15.

The cost for the one-mile run is $15. Spring Hill students may enter that race for $10.

Every participant registered before April 13 will receive a T-shirt; after that date shirts cannot be guaranteed.

The top three overall male/female finishers in the 5K will receive gift certificates to Play It Again Sports. Top three finishers in each age group will receive event awards. Event ribbons will be given to each one-mile participant, and awards for the top 10 runners in that race will be distributed.

There will be refreshments and door prizes, including a Kindle giveaway, for all participants after the race.

Mail registration forms to Spring Hill Elementary Sun Run, 100 Bradford Square, Fayetteville, GA 30215. Forms may also be dropped off at the school’s front office or returned to a homeroom teacher.

Pre-race packets may be picked up at the school April 25-26 or after 4 p.m. on the day of the race.
