Class AAA Girls: Westminster 3, Pace Academy 0

 The Westminster girls scored all three goals of its goals in the of second half of a 3-0 shutout over Pace Academy in the Girls Class AAA soccer state championship. The victory gave Westminster its third straight state title and the program’s 11th all-time crown.

After a series of lighting delays stockpiled into a two-hour halftime, the second half resumed and Westminster quickly got on the board with an unassisted goal by Maggie Graham. Teammate Tori Penn was assisted by Delaney on the Widlcats’ second goal in the first 11:13 of the second half.

Astrid Wheeler iced the game with Westminster’s final goal with an assist from Kaliah Adams at 27.29.

Class AAA Boys: Westminster 2, Pace Academy 1

Westminster got early scoring and never trailed as the program clinched its 12th all-time boys soccer state title and first since 2013 with a 2-1 win over Pace Academy. The Wildcats got on the scoreboard less than four minutes into the game with a goal by Watson Jackson.

Whit Sperau cushioned the lead with 12:12 left in the half on a strike from 20 yards out. After 38 scoreless second-half minutes, Pace Academy made it a 2-1 game with just 1:47 left to play.
