High school golf blog: Dunwoody boys, Lakeside girls win DeKalb titles
The Dunwoody boys and Lakeside girls won the DeKalb County Golf Championships at Mystery Valley.
It was the 11th straight championship for Dunwoody. The Wildcats shot a 328 to easily defeat Chamblee (411) and Lakeside (413). It was Dunwoody’s 17th county championship.
The Lakeside girls defending their title by shooting a 195 and beating Arabia Mountain (243), Chamblee (263), Dunwoody (271) and Tucker (288). Lakeside has won six county titles, matching the total of Dunwoody.
Dunwoody’s Jack Kerdasha shot 78 to claim medalist honors and the Wildcats had five of the six top scores. Senior Christian Glass finished second with an 80, followed by Jackson Perry and Albert Rice with 85, and Jackson Ceo with an 88.
Arabia Mountain’s Torrance Allen broke up the Dunwoody domination by placing fifth with an 86.
Lakeside’s Kaylee Cornelius was medalist with an 89, good enough to win by 10 shots over Arabia Mountain’s Miracle Goolsby. Hailey Alexander of Druid Hills was third with a 100.
