North Forsyth at Woodstock

When, where: Friday, 7:30 p.m. at Woodstock Stadium in Woodstock

Record, ranking: North is 3-1 and unranked in Class 7A; Woodstock is 2-2 and unranked in Class 7A

Series history: Woodstock leads 2-0

Last meeting: Woodstock won 14-8 in 2011

What to know: North can start 4-1 for the first time since 2013, when it went 4-0 to start under Jason Galt. The Raiders are scoring over 30 points a game in their victories and their only loss has come by a touchdown. They’ve also been resilient, bouncing back from deficits in nearly every game. Friday’s long touchdown pass with 16 seconds left was more of a well-executed play than a miracle.

This should certainly be a shootout, as the Wolverines are a pass-happy program. That was evident in West Forsyth’s season opener, where Woodstock nearly passed its way out of a hole and won late.

North receiver Simon Holcomb and Woodstock receiver Louis Hall should put on a show, themselves as some of the most prolific pass catchers in the area, while quarterbacks Ben Bales continues to emerge as another elite passer in the county and should have plenty of chances against Woodstock’s defense—last week they gave up over 400 yards passing to North Paulding in a 49-21 loss.
