Yes, it’s still July, and we’re still more than a month away from the start of the 2017 football season. But that doesn’t mean we can’t get ready for the upcoming season. To do that, we’ll have a series throughout the summer counting down to the season.

The series continues with a power poll for GHSA Region 1-6A.

Valdosta

2016 record: 14-1.

Season opener: at Lowndes, Aug. 18.

Northside

2016 record: 11-3.

Season opener: vs. Warner Robins, Aug. 18.

Lee County

2016 record: 7-4.

Season opener: vs. Mary Persons, Aug. 17 at Mercer.

Houston County

2016 record: 7-3.

Season opener: vs. Jones County, Aug. 17 at Mercer.
