All-region basketball: South Atlanta’s Thornton, Washington’s Gallishaw are 6-AA players of year

Tyler Thornton, who averaged 15 point and 10 rebounds for No. 1-ranked South Atlanta, is the boys player of the year in Region 6-AA.

The girls player of the year is Sabree Gallishaw of Washington. Gallishaw averages 25 points, 17 rebounds and 11 blocked shots for a team that finished 9-17.

Here are the all-region teams for 6-AA as chosen by the league’s coaches.
