Girls Lacrosse Athlete of the week - Chandler Smith

Team: Chattahoochee

Grade: Senior

Position: Point

Team Record: The Chattahoochee girls are 10-4 and ranked No. 6 in the state. The team will travel to take on North Springs at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1 in the playoffs.

Individual Statistics for this year: Smith is leading the team in turnovers forced (25), ground balls (45) and interceptions (25).

Individual Career Statistics: This is Smith's second year playing lacrosse. Last year she was a starter for the team and a standout player.

Past Awards or Recognition: Smith was recently nominated to be a player in the first ever Georgia High School Lacrosse All-Star Games being presented by DiVarsity.com.

Grades and Extracurricular Activities: She maintains good grades and also plays varsity softball and basketball for Chattahoochee.

Possible Future Colleges: Smith will be attending the University of Mississippi next year.

Head Coach: Julie Torbert

Additional Comments: "She's just an all-around player. She's the last player they go through before they go on goal. We brought her up from the junior varsity team mid to late in the year last season and ended up starting her in our playoff games because she came on so well and she's been a starter ever since," said coach Torbert.
